Here I am, back after a long absence, and now I'm leaving again. Found a couple of cheap tickets for Greece, so I'm bringing my girlfriend and head down to Thassos for a week on wednesday. It's not like I've had it tough since I got back to Sweden in April, but it will be nice visit the Mediterranean for the first time in several years. No idea what it's really like down there right now, but I reckon it will make a good memory anyway.
Oh, and I will start working at Norrona in a few weeks, so looking forward to that!
Recently agreed with a new partner for next season, Röjk Superwear. Insanely comfy, cool and technical gear, feeling great about this! Check out their stuff!
Also got a bunch of new stuff the other day. New gloves from Hestra that I haven't used before and that I think will work great for spring skiing. Also got a new helmet and back protector from Sweet Protection, the latter a new model for next year. Fits better and is more comfy than any other back protector I've used or tried on. It goes by the name of Bearsuit - respect!

And, should I have any kids among my readers, a shot of one of my dad's kittens to top it off.
What a competition Xtreme Verbier was! Sick runs by my fellow Swedes Reine Barkered and Christine Hargin led to double wins in the comp as well as on the tour! Simply amazing!!
Been a long time since I posted anything here, mostly because I've been preparing my move back to Sweden and haven't had time (or been in shape after my crash in Jan) to ski. Managed to get a few days in Hakuba a week or so ago though. Great fun, weather and company! Managed to put together a little something, feel free to check it out here:
Looking forward to meeting up with friends and aquaintances in Riksgränsen in May, and then hopefully, I'll be in good enough shape to go skiing in Norway. See you out there!
This is going to be a slightly different post from the previous ones I've written here.
During the past eleven days, which I've spent in Hakuba, Japan, I've met some amazing people, old friends and new aquaintances alike. Weather has been far from what we hoped for with snow conditions that were okay at their best, which can be stressful when you're out like this, as I'm sure everyone knows.
I have always felt the need to perform and be productive, and after damaging my left PCL a month ago, I have had problems with everything from standing up to taking off my shoes, let alone skiing. Yesterday, we had warm weather, cloudy skies, wet, slushy snow, and we decided to forget everything about film and photography, and just went out riding to have fun. And, it was probably the most fun I've had on skis during the entire trip. Suddenly, I could relax, my knee hurt a little less and I was able to have a lot of fun on the mountain with my friends.
I feel that I have again realized something I've forgot at some point, namely that skiing, to me, is not about producing "results" or have the deepest day of your life everytime you go out, but to have fun with your friends and appreciate the moment. I'm probably rambling, but it feels good to have come back to that understanding.
In less than a months time, I leave Japan and move home to Sweden. For good or not, no one knows, but I will definitely be back here soon. I'm looking forward to a new chapter of my life, and have already begun planning a few ski trips for the future. Hopefully, I'll be able to go skiing in Norway in late April or May, maybe even June. Either way, I'll make sure to remember what I have learned during the past days.
So, tomorrow is the big day. I head back to the mountains for the first time in a month. Time and rest have shown that my injury at the end of January was not only at the shin, but at my back ACL as well. This is a bitch, of course, but I'm able to walk, bend my knees and so on now at least. Although it does hurt still.
In any case, from Jan 23 to March 4, I will be out working and enjoying myself with the rest of the Swedish SKILOGIK team, as well as a few of our Japanese associates. It will be a lot of fun, and hopefully, we'll get plenty of good footage and pictures!
There will, hopefully, be plenty more updates to come now, so stay tuned!
Been a while now, due to a slight depression! In accordance with tradition, I got injured again in January this year, although a week or so later than usual. During a photoshoot here in Japan, I hit a tree with my shin just below the knee with full force and has been trying to recover since it happened on Jan 24. The leg swelled up instantaneously and I went down to the hospital, had a few x-ray shots taken and found out nothing was broken, nothing fractured, and my ACL etc made it out okay as well. A blessing in disguise, so to speak. However, I still have a lot of congested blood around the upper shin and seem to have contracted a bad shin splint, but that will heal in good time. Sucks to be at home atm, but all in all, it was a great trip!
Beautiful view looking up!
Beautiful view looking down!
In other news, SIA and ISPO have come to an end and the SKILOGIK booth was bustling with activity. Here, a shot of Kaj and Sverre checking out the 2012/13 line:
And, to top it off, a short video from my last day on skis so far:
Going away to the mountains again tomorrow, after a week of recuperating and spending time with my girlfriend in Osaka. Will ski and shoot for an article together with journalist Magnus Wiström, photographer Patrik Lindqvist and a snowboarding Aussie of a friend in the Japanese Alps. Super psyched about this of course! Great hotels, food, hot springs and, of course, skiing follow us wherever we go the coming week, so stay tuned for updates!
In the meantime, here's a little video from nine days in Hakuba, last time I was out. Enjoy!
