So while back home I participated in a 24hr film fest, where we filmed, edited, graded, etc. in under 24hrs. This was filmed with my magic lanterned t3i and the canon 50mm f/1.4. Super fun experience and it turned out pretty well. Those who participated include:
Riley Carson
Chance Eichner
Dakota Wixom
Stone Laurila
Mitchell Kaiser
Noah Weiner
So without further hesitation ..Finally!
Entry to the 2012 Vancouver School of Arts and Academics Film Festival. Filmed/Edited in under 24 hours from April 27-28. The requirements were as follows:
-At least one "Dutch Titlt" styled shot -Must include a cat "meow" sound effect -A spork must appear in at least one scene -At least one scene must take place at a staircase -Must include at least one famous movie quote
We included two famous movie quotes for good measure. "Plastics" and "Yo, Adrian!"
Filmed on Canon T3i's in downtown Vancouver, Washington
Really just had to post this. Truly an inspiration to me. The sound design, music choices, and grading were all spot on. The vibe of the edit was just perfect. Definitely a favorite of the ski season.
A few of Ontario's finest, Geoff Lovelace, and Jamieson Irvine, team up with myself to put out this edit. Filmed over two days at MSLM, these guys killed it and it was a pleasure filming with them. Look out for more in the future. I apologize in advance for the water specks on the lens in some of the shots, filming conditions were not optimal for one of the days. Cheers.
So we just got a brand new Glidecam HD-2000. It is a steady cam rig for those of you who do not know. And one thing is for sure, it is darn hard to use! It has a lot of potential but the learning curve is steep. It took a good 2 hours of tinkering with the balance to get it decently good but we still need to work on it. I was noticing when I was using it the other day, that the wind kept messing with it and the shot was not really usable. We will try to get a clip this weekend using it, because it is a very cool device!
None the less we are super stoked on it. As far as putting out videos, we have been kind of slacking because a huge real estate project for Big Sky Vacation Rentals is taking up all our time, along with school, and my other job.
I did get a chance to explore my design side of things again, by creating a flyer for my job’s upcoming rail jam which I am putting on. I was pretty stoked on what I came up with. You should all come out to the event!
Got some good skiing in on my birthday. Woke up to 6 inches of fresh. First time in the Big Couloir, had a blast. Here is a quick little edit I through together.
3rd gully, Cron’s, Big Couloir, Secret, South Wall, South Wall, Rice Bowl, Buffalo Jump. Super fun day!
