CHECK OUT THE NEW EPISODE OF SELKIRK SESSIONS!
Yesterday me, Rory and his snowboarder friend Ben went out for a little mission up Sale mountain. We sledded up as far as we could, started touring from there and we climbed up the last bit to get to the top. From there we skied down a really steep and exposed face to get down to the couloir that we had seen from the sled track. While there, we decided to ski the ridge right next to it though it had better snow. Half way down the steep ridge while we were trying to find the entrance to the chute we find out that there is no way into it without droppin a 20 foot cliff straight into the couloir. So, we decided to hike up back to the top of the ridge. Bummer! Booting up the steep ridge was harsh! While at the top we skied down the chute instead all the way to bottom. Such a cool run! Glad we got the bonus ridge run aswell! :)
Take care! /Doug
Yesterday was such an amazing day! It started off with me and Simon hiking Mckinsey to ski down spilled milk which was a really cool and exposed run. Later on I met up with Ben and Oscar and we went out to Kokanee to see the sunset and to ski in the moonlight.
It was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had skiing. Due to the fact that it was a full moon you could see perfectly and we could ski powder lines over and over again. The moonlight was so bright and we had no trouble at all seeing the contours of the snow. On our way back in the dark we saw a bonfire in the distance and we decided to skin up there and check it out. We found Jeremy and two of his friends making a camp there and we set down to warm ourselves up by the fire. We shared some beers that we brought and we had a really good time!
Here's some pictures from this epic day!

I've been spending this week in rogers pass. Today me, Ben and Jarred skied the notorious couloir "Forever Young" and to get to it we hiked up Youngs peek. The view from there was stunning. We had an 360 view with a blue sky and endless mountain tops! Today was one of my best days ski touring of my life! Such an scenery and such cool skiing down the super steep couloir.
Here's some pictures of the trip I did with Ben and Nathan earlier this week:
And here's some pics from today:
The last two days I've been doing day trips to Rogers Pass for some excellent ski touring. Yesterday I, Simon Reeves and Rory Camm went up there to ski some gnarly pillows. The snow was heavily sluffing due to the meter of snow thats been falling during the last seven days but we managed to get some cool lines down. We had to break trail both in and out through the deep snow which was very hard but some good exercise that's for sure!
Today I, Simon, Mickey, Jarred and Nina skied down "Puff Daddy" and we had the most amazing snow. Light and deep - Blower pow!
The forecast promises sun for the next couple of days so its time to bring the camera up to the mountains to get some good shots!
Stay tuned for more updates!
