history being made

After doing tonight’s big air preliminations, and watching the finals, I am completely speechless. I never expected to see anything like this in a big air competition, on a jump that some people called useless. Going to post a few pictures and then rewind with a few brews in the hot tub…

IMG_0646WHAT in the world just happened??!!??

For those of you who did not watch tonight’s show, here’s a quick recap.

-8 different kinds of double flips/corks were landed (switch double 900, switch double 1080, switch double 1440, switch double misty 1260, switch double misty 1440, double 1080, double 1260, double 1620).

-minds were blown

-3 years of progression pretty much happened in 2 consecutive hours

-I’m off to bed to dream up new combinations of corks/grabs

  1. TJs 1620 was insaaaane! :o

  2. Time to go tripple? Tripple Kangaroo 12 would be awsome!

  3. @Jacob: I loved your skiing in the big air comp, you really did great! I really thougt you would make it to the finals till some of the other guys began to step it up… Better luck next time! Can’t wait to see some new grab / double combinations from you :D

@Pontus: A tripple kangaroo would be 6 flat spins which is, in my opinion, a bit too big maybe? (: A tripple flatspin have been done tho but going upside down 3 times is a lot !

  4. Where have you gotten the orange splice googles? They are sick!

  5. i also thought you were going to score higher on all of your jumps, you were so smooth on the landings and flawless in the air. good luck with the rest of your season Jacob, it’s always fun watching you throw down.

there was a huge Idaho crew rooting for you this weekend!
