look at ourselves through a porthole

I’m not exactly sure of where I am. I never really bothered looking at a map when I found out I was going to Silverton, Colorado, but I had a feeling it would be pretty disconnected. Well, it is. After 8 hours of driving through deserts, ghost towns and mountain passes, Alex Schlopy and I finally made it to Silverton, population 531. Here’s a journey in pictures:

after the long drive, dinner was enjoyed.

first ride of the day, first time ever on powder skis, Alex Schlopy is going over the safety precautions with our guide Alex.

line from below. pretty good example of how deceiving backcountry lines can be.

Alex before dropping in on a pillow line that almost ended with disaster, when he had a close encounter with the two trees in the lower right corner.

stoked to finally ski powder again!

So today we have basically just been cruising around looking for potential, since our filmers arrived later this afternoon. There’s definitely a lot of fun stuff to do out here over the next 10 days so stay tuned! At the moment its absolutely dumping outside, they’re calling for 2-3 feet of snow tonight…
