surfing
I know I haven’t posted many surfing shots on here lately, and frankly, the main reason for that is that Sri Lankan surf is marginal at best. Maybe we just got skunked, but most days it’s been knee to waist high waves with hundreds of people fighting for the sets. When they do come through however, the waves are glassy, fun and low consequence, so it’s perfect to practice your moves. Here’s a few from yesterday when Sofia took the 70-200mm out:
fun little glassy sections if you manage to sneak one from the locals:
the price you pay for accessible fun-sized waves; a slalom course of beginners, and locals completely ignoring your presence while they’re happily dropping in front of you. there’s not much you can do but smile and go back in for an ice coffee.
We got two more days here in Arugam Bay before embarking on a journey across the country by train, before finally reaching Colombo on Sunday night. Monday morning we get on a flight to Bali, it’s going to feel like coming home. Can’t wait.
