FIS WC day 2

Another day of practice is over and most of us have our runs figured out (kind of). The park builders changed a few of the features and it’s definitely looking better. Landings are still very flat but we have been promised some work on them for the game day tomorrow.

I just found out I am in heat 2 together with my brother, Oscar Scherlin and Niklas Eriksson. We start at 11 which is perfect because we will have good light, unlike the poor souls who have to go at 4 pm tomorrow in the flat light… That will definitely suck. I figured out a run today that I will do as my first run, then if I land it I will step up some of the tricks. Hopefully it will work out!

After practice today we played around on the mountain for a bit, here’s a few shots:

Oscar ready to drop into some steeps on the backside of Corvatsch.

Oscar, Frej and Per getting some well earned turns after 3 hours of slopestyle practice. 3000ft of vert, untracked pow. People here never leave the groomers, pretty sick!

Yours truly warmed up for the training session with a fun little cliff next to the slopestyle course. Screenshot from my Sony.

Check back tomorrow to see how it all went!

  1. if you have good light…then what are you going to complain about when you don’t place? judging???

  2. richh23 – I would probably complain the most on my own skiing which obviously was not good enough to make it to finals. had I not knuckled one of the jumps and been able to keep my speed into the rail feature I could have placed better but these things happen I guess. skiing in fog and sideways snowstorm always make things interesting!
