It’s a wrap!

So yesterday we finished up our final day of action here in Engelberg! After all the snow we got last weekend it was weird to get up on the mountain to discover it was all gone. High winds and warm temps had pretty much obliterated the freshies and we were left with a spring-looking mountain landscape, not really allowing for any jumping, or even pow turns. Luckily for us we have all of that footage in the bag already, so we decided to go on a mellow skin tour from Jochpass up to the lower ridge of Graustock mountain, just west of the ski resort. Arriving at the top in the afternoon, we enjoyed some lunch and beverages in the sun before skiing the pow-turned-slush through some couloirs back down to Jochpass, and further down to the village. Nothing ultra technical or radical, just some relaxed spring skiing, in December!

Today we are packing up our bags, editing the rough mix of the episode, and taking care of our sore bodies. It’s been an amazing 3 weeks roadtripping through the alps and we are blown away by all the good skiing we’ve found. We will be back soon!

Off to Stockholm on friday morning, tomorrow we’ll be driving to Munich through Innsbruck where we will make a stop at the Armada office. Stay tuned.

andi – I’ve been using the marker dukes. If you want to do some more serious skiing it’s well worth the extra weight. I even do some jumping with them. If youre thinking youre just going to do mellow skiing (like the shots above, spring turns in the sun, low-risk faces, smaller cliffs etc), go with a full dynafit system for lowered weight!
