Anyways, the crew had a successful day with Richard and Sean getting the real bangers, some super nasty lines down some super epic mountains that I was terrified just to get dropped off on, very impressive for sure. I had a bit of a rough time, tomahawking violently on one of the first features and ended up taking it pretty mellow for the rest of the day. Got a couple cliff shots though that I am super stoked about, I just wish we could get another day of sun.

So, sorry about the lack of pictures, but you will see what went down in about 6 months from now when the movie drops so stay tuned!

Leaving for Whistler in a couple days, super excited to be back there as I haven’t been there since 2009. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to do some more heli skiing over there to try to finish up my segment.

For those of you who don’t know, The Association of Freeskiing Professionals is a system not far away from FIS, that has the objective to rank and classify both riders and events. An event can get a status ranging from bronze to platinum, basically telling sponsors and athletes how important the competition in question is. Depending on the status of the comp, the athletes in it get AFP points for how well they score in it, and move up and down in the ranking systems.

Obviously there is no way of telling who is the best skier and so on, but for people outside of our sport, such as corporate sponsors and mainstream media, having an official looking ranking system is obviously very convenient. With the JOI only having one discipline, and an AFP gold standard, it only makes sense for me, and several other athletes, to go to the platinum-ranked WSI event. There I can do two disciplines and score a lot higher in the final ranking, where I am currently ranked 3rd (big air), 11th (slopestyle), and 9th (overall).

It’s a huge bummer the events coincide because trust me, I want to compete in front of the home crowd more than anything, but with sponsor contracts being renewed, this is the smartest choice for me business-wise. It’s not a long career and you gotta make the smart moves!

Whistler is going to be awesome, not only is it 3 days of competing at one of the oldest and most prestigious events in our sport, it’s all during the 10 day long Telus festival with a bunch of sick bands playing so I’m obviously stoked for that side of the trip too

after my second place at the WSI big air in 2009, most fun big air comp ever. super stoked its happening again!

Got a bunch of antibiotics and it just started helping out a bit, so today will be the first day Im skiing since friday, going to go take a few mellow runs and see how it is.

At least the weather has been f*cking horrible over the last two days so there’s no way we could have been shooting anyways, today it’s bluebird but I will probably stay out of the park. Leaving for Aspen tomorrow for a hectic week of X Games, so stay tuned for that!

In other news, we are leaving Morocco today, to go back home to Stockholm for one night. Then the plan is to go straight to Breckenridge on Sunday, so I got two pretty long travel days in front of me.

Gonna eat our last breakfast here at Lapoint surf camp, then head to the airport.

The internet in Budapest will just not let me upload the first webisode of Monster Energy Budapest Fridge, that Sofia and I finished last night.

Been trying everything from youtube to vimeo and it either stops halfway or the processing of the video stalls and gets stuck for hours.

Anyways, gonna go to the venue to try out the jump now, hoping for the winds to die down a bit as its pretty gusty outside.

We got up late due to some shifty weather, and some of the boys in the house hit their heads on a bottle of 80% Stroh rum the night before so they were off to a slow start.

We ended up going up to the hill around the 10.30 mark when the skies started clearing and it turned out to be a windy, but quite decent day in the park. Spent most of my runs in the medium line doing 5s and 7s with my brother, worked on some different axes on my left spins, and just took it casual. Went down early as the storm came rolling in, and today it’s in full force. Heavy clouds everywhere and the webcam gives us a completely grey picture from the top part of the mountain. Oh, slightly discernable lift tower right now. Visibility maybe 30 meters. Sounds like another cup of coffee and some more online scrabble to me.

Jesper and Oscar W is sharing the fold-out couch in the kitchen. its 9:19am and theyre still sleeping. the new generation is the lazy one.

oh well, I’ll keep y’all posted if we decide to brave the weather and go skiing, although that seems highly unlikely at the moment.

I also have some bad news for everyone expecting and edit soon. The footage folder in my computer got corrupted and now the files don’t work, so pretty much the entire edit is gone.

haha, just kidding. did I scare you? on the real though, for some reason our internet provider won’t let us upload files bigger than 1 MB. the edit will be just a tad bigger than that, so I will have to find an alternative wifi zone somewhere, something that has proven very difficult in this region of the Austrian alps. worst case scenario, the edit will have to wait until the weekend, when I am in London for the Freeze comp. message to all Londonites: come to the Battersea power station on Sunday to see the best skiing in the world right now! you won’t regret it!

woke up to this:

now, before all the pow-hounds jump on me telling me I should go “shred the gnar-gnar” or something, you should know that this snow means absolutely nothing at this point as the only skiable area up there right now is the glacier, where out-of-bound runs are strictly verboten due to crevasses and poor snow base. unfortunately for us this means that the fresh snow is more of an obstacle, the speed for the jumps gets slow, and according to the webcams, the visibility is close to zero. we’ll probably go hit some rails in the afternoon though, just to get some skiing in.
