I moved to Gothenburg 12 years ago with no knowledge about the adventure potential this area offers. During this time I have travelled to many places around the world for adventure photography work, but lately realized a lot of the good stuff is just around my corner! So, here are 10 reasons why there is no need to leave Gothenburg for adventures.
Hiking in Sandsjöbacka
Sandsjöbacka is a nature reserve just South of Gothenburg. As I am a lover of views I was really surprised when I the first time got up to this location. Try it in sunset, it is really nice!
Canoeing in Lärjeån
Lärjeån meanders through the Lärje valley just East of Gothenburg. And it feels like the Amazons with big hanging trees, the never lasting sound from birds and the brown flowing river.
Climbing in Utby
The rocks of Utby a 20 minute bike ride from the centre of Gothenburg. They are big, made out of gneiss and offer 100’s of climbing routes. This place is also nice for sunset views.
Skiing on Ramberget
Ok, this is a strecher. But sometimes we do get snow in Gothenburg and with a good base Ramberget, just Northwest of the centre, is a good place for skiing. It is steep and lots of cliffs to jump
Caving in Hällesåker
Caving in the Börsås cave in Hällesåker about 20km South east of Gothenburg. Very unexpected to find a cave here but it is a blast. Push yourself through this tight cave and you will get a good laugh!
Hiking in Änggårdsbergen
Hiking among the big beech trees in Änggårdsbergen. This nature reserve is pretty much located in Gothenburg and offers everything from hiking to biking to just relaxing in wind shelters.
Biking in Delsjön
Or why not head to the beech trees of Delsjön with the bike. The Delsjö area are amazing for biking and you have trails for a week. Views, lakes, hikes and bikes. Everything is here. And it is only a 15 minute walk from the centre of Gothenburg.
Freediving in Öckerö
According to adventures Annelie Pompe we have an amazing world beneath the surface on the West coast. I joined her and was struck by this beautiful world. It was so clorful and exciting and Öckerö is not far from the centre of Gothenburg.
Kayaking in the archipelago
Gothenburg offer endless of possibilities when it comes to kayaking. Pack the kayak for a weekend adventure with tent, food and good food is the strongest recommendation here
Long time, again…
Well, to summarize my working life at the moment:
And if you want to read more about what I am doing… check out the site of ERV! In there I am blogging monthly!
Did anyone say you can’t ski in Göteborg? Well, we sure can! After a big 30 cm+ dump a few days ago, the industrial town of Göteborg turned into a new ski paradise. First I did some shooting at Skansen Kronan with Skistore employees Viktor Åsander and Jocke Croy, and later on that day I hooked up with Johan Engebratt for some powder skiing at Ramberget.
I thought about producing a new web page for a long time, and a month ago the old one broke down. So that left me now choice Here is the new web page, and I intend to to quite a bit of blogging about adventure photography, and escpecilly about tips and trix – how I think etc. I really like to pass on knowledge, and I hope you will get some of it here in the future!

It’s been ages since I updated my blog, lately time has become something of a luxury. Maybe it has something to do with my second kid that arrived in the beginning of March
Lots of fun stuff is going on, and I will write about it shortly. But I am though still blogging, so if you visit my insurance partner ERV Europeiska – there is monthly updates there!
First time in Canada, and it really made an impact on me! Nice mountains and amazing tree skiing! We weren’t super lucky with the snow, not due to lack of snow but avalanche danger of 4 in the higher altitudes. We (the crew of Pure Canada) stayed in a lodge just outside Golden, close to the Kicking horse ski resort. I only spent three days in Canada, so I didn’t have time for lots of skiing. But I did ski in Kicking horse and in the area of the crow glacier. One day I will go back to Canada!
Before Canada I did a short one day visit to ISPO and made a short talk in the Sätila stand. Sätila won a nice price for their new beanie made for active outdoor lifestyle. It is knitted with reflex yarn, an important safety feature when being active in darkness!
Met up with Petter when I came home from Canada. Captured a few portraits for an upcoming feature at Freeride.se. We did the shooting just outside CLWR headcourter, and I took a look at their products – some really cool stuff.
Last job was in Bromma, Stockholm where I produced some new images for Mornington hotel. I was happy to see the hottest elevator ever!
Oj, oj, whats been going on since last time I wrote a blog post? A lot! I did a winter campaign for Subaru in November. In December I went to Moscow for an exhibition I was part of, I signed a book contract, got a back problem (not yet 100% solved), and skied powder in Engelberg. I recently came back from the Alps, shooting things for Åka Skidor and Fri Flyt. It was a bit of a hassle because of my back, but my good ski buddies took good care of me My next trip is not planned until end of January, but I still have tons of things to do in Göteborg. Mainly doing adventures in and around Göteborg for the book project but also some planning together with Moderkskeppet’s Anders Jensen for our “soon to be released” photo/image editing-trip to Chamonix in cooperation wit Zoomresor. So a lot of thing you don’t want to miss
