travel diary San Francisco part 1.

05:45 am, Stockholm, Arlanda airport

I didnt sleep much. I always find it hard to get any sleep at all when I have an early wake up, I guess it’s my fear of missing important flights. Missing today’s would have been horrible. Sofia just dropped me off, I feel sorry for her having to get up this early just to get me to the airport. I could have taken a cab but she insisted. She is nice like that. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long day.

09:10 am, somewhere over the midwest. (west coast time)

I just woke up and looked out the window. We’re flying over a dry, rocky landscape, with a thin layer of snow covering some of the peaks. I’m trying to figure out what state but I fail. I don’t know much about U.S. geography, really. I looked at the map  in the airline magazine and draw the conclusion that it is probably Wyoming. But what do I know, I might be way off.
I just realized that this is going to be the longest day in a while for me. I got up at 4.30 am swedish time in the morning, and if I get to bed at 10.30 pm CA time, I’ve been awake for 27 hours. Something like that, I did get some sleep on this flight though. My first flight to Frankfurt, Germany, was delayed, and I was almost certain I had missed my SF flight, but made it on as the last passenger.
Exciting.
It made me sweaty though, and I smell like shit.
I think I’m in San Fran in about 3 hours, yay. I’m not looking forward going through customs. For some reasons I never feel welcome travelling to the U.S. So many questions, of so little importance. I never really know what to say, when they ask me why I am there for the 7th time this year. I usually tell them I’m rich and that I love their country. I can tell what they’re thinking by the look of their faces.
“Spoiled brat.”
I do love some parts of it though. And i can’t wait to see the Golden Gate, and take a picture of it.

2:08 pm, The Westin St. Francis, San Francisco

Just got to my room. This hotel is ridiculously big and fancy, it kind of made me feel awkward to check in. Big props to Icer Air, way to set your riders up.
I think I’m going to go explore a little bit, and get something to eat. Take touristy photos, and stuff like that.
I’m sharing a room with Sammy. I hope he doesnt snore.

3:55 pm, The Westin St. Francis, San Francisco

Back in my room. SF is an insane city. And i say that as if it is a good thing. So vibrant, alive, colorful. Im already exhausted. Went for a walk with Colby and passed by the Apple store. Got a new iPod, and now I feel guilty of being a trend whore. I needed a new one though, I can always tell myself that.
Alright, going to eat something now. Starving.

quality photos will come.
