you can’t win e’m all – but keep up the good work. what was the problem with the d.c.12 – Jump to small? It was good in CH – was it thr jump, the snow, landing?
What did you think if the comp compared to freestyle.ch/icer? First time anything like that has ever been attempted in the UK so I don’t think most people knew what to expect!
R:
A lot of people were dissapointed with the riders hospitality. I had to get a 70 pound shuttle both ways from the airport to the hotel. The skiers at this level in the sport expects to be taken care of better.
other than that, the event was OK, the jump definitely needs to be way bigger to allow us to do the tricks we want to do.
always sketchy the first year, hopefully they will figure everything out for next year and we will all come back!
Hope you guys had a good time at the Duchess after party, I was talking to Colby walking over there (sound guy). Have fun while you’re in London. I was stoked with how many big riders made it out.
The UK isn’t really into skiing that much and alot of people there didn’t really recognise the level of riders/skiing they were seeing. Everyone was impressed with the show, I’m sure the event will be bigger and better next year!
Unlucky at the end J, good luck for the rest of your season. P.S. £70 each way???? Ripped! I’ll pick you up next year!
J: yea i see they put you boys up in a travelodge; that’s quite budget so i’m sorry! so coming 4th do you get any financial contribution or does it mean you came out of the London Freeze £70 down?
from a spectators point of view i thought it went pretty well, although i did envy the view of those up in the box. athletes were all pretty chilled about being mobbed too. pk couldn’t leave the prize giving due to the amount of people. ridiculous! hope you’ll make it back again.
Shame they didn’t look after the riders well. Jacob, ring them up, tell them how to do it properly. Then they can sort it for next year (if there is one)
It was amazing to have yourself and loads of the top pro’s in london. Hope they improve the comp so that you come back next year. Be a shame if it couldnt be improved
I add my apologies for the poor facilities – it’s pretty bad to provide a bunch of pro athletes with no airport transfer and a Travelodge as accommodation. However, it’s the first time a Winter Sports event of this size has been in the UK, and the organisers were probably trying to keep costs to a minimum incase tickets didn’t sell. It seemed to go well in that respect, as it was quite busy on Friday and a sellout on Saturday, so hopefully they can make improvements if it happens again and the competitors will give it another chance.
I second Karl’s comment – give them feedback on what was good and what needs to be improved for you all to come back next year. Hopefully they’ll listen, and we can see some more amazing skiing in London!
j was that a sw 12 or a forward 10 on your first hit in the vid? bummer that you didnt land the dub C 12!!
that was a forward 10. yeah, the jump was pretty small so i had to go relearn that old forward cork 10, it was hard.
the dub 12 was a no-no i guess…
if you’d landed you dubcork, you’ve been the winnerman again! =) but 1st 1st 4th in 3 comps is a damn good beginning of the season! Big gratz
