jacob's leg, post first (and only) run. not too fun.
so, today was, to say the least, somewhat of a disappointment. since the prelims got cancelled thursday, we had to do them this morning, after about 2 runs of practice, and we only got one run each. I was obviously nervous since I had been planning on getting my “safe” run first, then step my game up as soon as I had that out of the way. today’s weather (snow, wind, and -15F) wasnt exactly working to our advantage either. nevermind, blaming it on the weather was uncalled for. I had speed issues, OK? ended up with landing short on the dub 1260, bouncing on my back, then getting my ski stuck in the snow while rotating around it. they told me I was lucky to come out of it with only a sprained calf muscle, and no knee injuries.
very frustrating, getting hurt this early in the season, with all these major comps coming up. hopefully I should be back on skis in a few weeks, so I might be able to do the second dew tour stop in Vermont in january.
stay tuned for more updates, I guess it wont be too much skiing for a while though.
