I <3 last place
Oh well. I don’t really have any excuse for my shitty skiing the other night, so I’m not going to try to make one up. Let’s just forget about that whole thing.
I was gonna put a video online, but I kind of lost motivation for it. So I figured the least I could do was to post a few pictures I snapped over the weekend. Here you go:
Mattias Fredriksson working his photo magic. Check his work out on his site.
someone must have had a bad day on that stretcher. we were lucky no one had to use it during the weekend. yuk!
Nate Abbott and Shay Williams enjoying Stockholm at the Transition Winter Awards.
Chug and Simon Dumont, looking unusually friendly in this picture.
Mattias was ready to party, and win the ‘best photographer of the year’ award.
Henrik taking home the ‘best rail ripper’ award. what a surprise.
Chris Sörman, best male snowboarder of the year, and Henrik Windstedt, best male skier of the year, celebrating.
So after the competition I decided I felt like disappearing from the surface of the world, so i dont have any shots from riders parties and other frivolous activities saturday night. I just went straight home and started packing my bags for Costa Rica, taking a well deserved little 2 week vacation after 4 city comps and a whole lot of riding. So I say sorry to all the die-hard skiing fans out there, it wont be a lot of ski action going on here for the next 16 days… But count on me being extra stoked on the 10th of december when I fly into Denver to go do the Dew Tour, and stay tuned for epic edits from breckenridge and keystone. Im out!!!
PS. Read more about the actual competition with results, pictures etc. here. Does anyone else think that it is hilarious that we know refer to a switch 1080 as a style trick? You should have heard you kids 4 years ago, what is going on in this world? Props to all involved, but the biggest go out to Pekka Hyysalo who got 4th on the biggest trick of the night and Elias Ambühl who got shat on by the judges after landing the first double cork tail grab in a competition.

Nice update. It’s really too bad you didn’t do too well. Hopefully the surf trip will let you clear your mind and have some fun! KOS competition was intense though, tricks and everything. Definite props.
Mike Clarke did a dub12 tail at the Nipon Open the season before last did he not? Not to say Elias’ wasn’t sick though!
EMK – I think Mike Clarke, no matter how sick that trick was, might have grabbed tindy, and not true tail. not taking anything away from clarke, but elias grabbed true tail/blunt through at least 720 of his rotation. only one ive ever seen doing that before is henrik this summer…pretty crazy.
Heard a lot of the skiers criticising the scoring; who were the judges?
