Training day: done
Just got home from the hill here in Breckenridge, Colorado, after the first day of practice at the Dew Tour. The slopestyle course is surprisingly good for this time of the year, and I got about 20 runs on it together with the rest of the competition crew. Unfortunately some bad weather came in and it started snowing, so I was a little held back due to that, and messing a lot of my tricks up. No big deal though, I got a rudimentary version of my competition run down and I feel pretty good about it. It’s simple but consistent.
the course looks like this:
- 3ft gap to down box or down rail
- three jumps, about 45, 55, 70ft.
- 45° slanted wallride or 10ft gap to flatbox to stepdown gap
- flat down rail or up down rail
- rainbow box or up rail to propane tank
No point in filming really, but I figured I’d test out the Contour HD 1080p out anyways, here’s a few tricks at the end of the day;

Day off tomorrow, but I think I’m still gonna head to the hill to work on my rail game. Jossi is throwing switch 630 on, and forward 630 on in his run…
Jacob
VIDEO, skiing
But you aren’t loading it as HD on vimeo, so isnt that a waste?
very true. i should get on that…
how are the new skis jacob? gotten used to the yet
them yet*
I would say that your railing was pretty good. And that switch 9 is really sweet.
keep doing work jacob. pumped to see you kill it this season
Hey Jacob!
Good to hear you practice on the off day!
Do you feel motivated this year? I really hope you get your game together! talent is really not enough, and it always sucks to see one going to waste..
I don’t know why it happened last year that Jon was writing about, if you didn’t like skiing or if you forgot how great athletes should behave..
You earned a spot on JOSS again because you did well this fall, so I hope you will appreciate it more this time..
Good luck!!
Hey Jacob,
What’s your take on mr Olsson’s cheap shot on you in his blog today?
I thought Jon remarks on his website were kind of cold, what about you? Any hard Feelings?
might be cold, but might be true.. Jacob can tell, but it’s always hard to judge oneself..
I think Jon can comment on his selection. They know each other well enough to judge..
Hope they won’t fight!:)
Damn Jon called you out… cold.
Hey Jacob!
I was just wondering about what you think about what’s Jon saying on his blog?
“Jacob
So why is Jacob not in team Swenden?
Basically because the Jacob that was with me at JOSS last year didn’t seem to like skiing and not appreciate the event, he complained about most features and did not try very hard. I though that Sweden was better represented by someone who wanted to be at JOSS.
But luckily I think we have all seen that Jacob has this fall come back to the old Jacob that skis hard, tries new tricks and gives the events his best.
Earning him a well deserved spot in Team Europe.
I am very happy to see Jacob back in that mind set as he is one of the most talented skiers out there, if he keeps this up, him and Elias will be a dangerous team!”
am I the only one who havent “seen that Jacob has this fall come back to the old Jacob that skis hard, tries new tricks and gives the events his best”. I think he has been killing it since he won freeestyle.ch 2008
just read the Olsson Blog… same question here; how do you feel about it? hope there is no hard feelings or rivalry between you guys.
anyway dont let it effect you or your skiing, i have good hopes for you at the dewtour!
keep it up bro! let them haters hate!
to all – me and Jon have talked about the event and I understand his way of looking at it, and he might be right in a sense. I was coming back from an injury and still felt a little intimidated by hitting huge kickers right away. this is why i might have come off as uninspired and blasé during the two weeks last year. this year im in team europe and you can count on me bringing something fresh to the table.

Awesome to here!
