six flags shutdown
sooo…after driving for 1.5 hours today me and Sofia were psyched on riding some rollercoasters, but something didnt feel quite right as we rolled up towards the entrance of six flags magic mountain north of LA…no cars, no people, I know it’s the first day of school and a tuesday, but should it really be this quiet…?
turns out it was closed. thank you, six flags, for not changing your online schedule. its open again on saturday, so I guess we’re going back.
anyhow, even though we were bummed we decided to make the best of the situation and headed down into LA to do some shopping and sightseeing:
didnt bring the big camera today, so we’re gonna save the big hollywood post for later, definitely gonna go back.
driving back home to Newport the waves were looking a little bit better, so I made a quick stop at home to get the board, then head back up to Huntington Beach to get wet. Sofia came too, and took some pictures from the pier:
pretty fun session, waves were a lot better than I expected. unfortunately SoCal is having a weird summer weather wise with a lot of onshore winds, and insanely cold water. the long range forecast tells us that something is brewing for friday and on, so hopefully there will be some quality surfing soon.
gonna do a slow day tomorrow, just cruise around newport and maybe drag Sofia out in the surf too:)
