the day after
it’s 10.40 am, and I just woke up, wondering where the hell I were. turns out I woke up in my hotel room which is always a good thing, I guess.
yesterday was easily the shittiest weather I’ve ever done a contest in, and I am impressed that we even committed to running the qualis. it was literally like taking a 10 hour, cold shower in all your ski gear.
anyways, not surprisingly, I skied somewhat shitty, not really getting the speed dialled in (kept landing super deep), and with the punchy slush all over the landing I couldnt quite land my tricks. skied well in practice, getting my style trick figured out (at freestyle.ch you have to land two tricks, one technical and one style), and tried a few dub corks for my tech run. all felt good, and then when it was time to go I fumbled with my grab on the 720 (style trick), and overshot the landing on the dub cork 10. oh well, so it goes. back to the drawing board on that one.
major props to E Dollo (Henrik Harlaut), for slaying it and taking the first spot for today’s finals! it will be exciting to watch today for sure.

Today will be a day of cruising around the venue, taking some pictures for all of you readers out there, and of course, rooting for the swedish colors. the weather took a turn from terrible to actually quite enjoyable so at least we won’t have to stand in the rain.
