Photo post!
Hey everyone, I think it’s about time for a recap of the last two weeks!
As you know I decided to focus on just having a vacation and not spending my days in front of the computer, but now we just got back to civilization for a few days so I snuck into an internet café to post some photos. We are currently in west Java, and it’s insanely hot out. Melting.
may 27th, just arrived in Bali. pale as a sheet.
sofia in the 5 dollar cab to Kuta beach
back at Berlian inn, the hotel we base ourselves at whenever in Bali. I can really recommend it, safe, quiet and nice staff. 5 minute walk from the beach, 12 dollars a night for a double.
pizza dinner at warung 96. best pizza and milkshake in town!
Kuta Beach post-surf beer together with 5000 other people. couldnt wait to get out of there.
Daniel Rönnbäck is a photographer friend out of sweden. Here he’s just caught his first real waves. And some serious mouth-fulls of salt water.
Hanging out at Balangan, one of our favorite surf spots in Bali. A bit of a trek to get to, but this day we were rewarded with head high waves and a total of 10 people in the water…
Daniel, mandatory tourist pose.
after 5 days in Bali, we decided to flee the tourists and head west, to Jakarta on Java. good choice.
after an 8 hour drive from the airport, we ended up in a quiet town on Java’s southwest coast. Daniel and Sofia walking down for a surf check in the morning.
first day in the water. 3 people out, no wind and a perfect left hander. I’ll take it.
a small inside section. the last few days we’ve had this wave to ourselves plus a handful of other guys, all sharing waves and having a good time. going to come back to this place many more times…
anyone knows what the hell this is?
traded the post-surf beer for a coconut. a lot better.
got a couple new tattoos by the coral reef on one of the bigger days.
another un-named spot going off. no one around for miles.
Today we finished our stay off with a morning session, before getting in a car for 4 hours to Cimaja, a small town right on the coast 5 hours south of Jakarta. Going to spend about a week here before heading back to Bali on monday. Supposedly there’s a few good right handers around so I’m going to end this blog post right now and jump in the water for an arvo session. Check back soon!
