Home!

Sitting in our living room sofa reminiscing 5 weeks of awesome surf, cultural experiences and beautiful scenery. Feels both good and bad to be back, but every good trip has to come to an end. Indonesia is a place that I will always keep returning too and it’s always hard to leave. Every time you return with new memories and with over 16 000 islands it’s hard to run out of new spots to see.

Been spending a lot of time at Balangan the last few days of big swell, a fast, fun lefthander on the southwest coast of Bali, here’s a few photos:

the line-up as seen from the parking lot. head high and almost no one out.

Balangan is the type of wave you don’t make any turns surfing. Just straight up speed lines until the wave races past you.

A solid one during golden hour.

The last day of the trip we headed far up the east coast with our friend Niko for some exploring and found this unridden little righthander. The two of us shared it for two hours before the winds came out, and enjoyed glassy shoulder high, rippable little peaks. Such a good way to end an epic surf trip!

U want it? I’ll take the next one.

Having too much fun on my latest impulse buy, a 5’8 choptail. Like a skateboard on water.

Some sunset ice cream hang-out our last night on the island. Until next time, Bali!

On our way home we had 8 hours in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, so we decided to go downtown and check out the city. Ended up walking around in Suria KLCC, the biggest mall I have ever seen:

Six floors of designer junk.

Sofia in front of 458m tall Petronas Towers, the tallest twin skyscrapers in the world.

Just finished packing up my bags and we are going to head to a different island, going to the beautiful Swedish island Gotland on tuesday, for 5 days of some total relaxation. The ocean looks dead flat and to be honest it’s almost going to be nice to do nothing at all for a change. Not even going to bring my surfboards. Weird.
