crayfishing

Mid august is a very special time of the year in Sweden. During the days it’s still summer, but the nights get darker and colder and you can tell we’re heading for winter. As strong believers in tradition, the swedes that are fortunate enough go catch crayfish, that are later consumed accompanied by loads of schnapps. Last night, since we are having a crayfish party tomorrow, Sofia and I went on a mission.

while waiting for the crayfish, we went fishing perch. Sofia had the best luck and got two big ones.

even though it gets cold at night, the lake stays warm for another month and felt like a bathtub. diving in before collecting our catch.

stay tuned for a follow-up on the crayfishing and the following party!
