So I bet some of you are wondering what’s going on – here’s a tip, check out my twitter as that’s where most of the action is happening nowadays. I will keep blogging but with less dedication as I have realized I work harder when I blog less, since I don’t bring a camera to the hill and spend too much time focusing on other things than skiing.

So what’s new: Well, I finally worked out a plan with Matchstick Productions and I will be shooting with them the rest of the season with the goal of producing a banger segment this year. As this plan finalized over the last few days I decided to fly home from breckenridge for a week to get some time in with Sofia and to start preparing for some serious powder missions. In a week from now I am flying back over the pond to spend about a month in Whistler with the MSP crew and a heli on hold. Pretty sick opportunity and I’m about to make the best of it for sure.

Since Stockholm has gotten a bunch of fresh snow over the last weeks I wouldnt completely rule out the chance of some urban rails being hit, either…

Well, so now you know my plans kinda, we’ll see how much I feel like updating from home, right now I’m mostly excited to see Sofia and to enjoy “normal” life for a few days, before I disappear to Canada…

Back in Breck – again

Made it back to Breckenridge today after a last few days in Aspen for X Games. Pretty happy with my skiing this year even though I didnt make finals. Found the live stream and managed (sorta) to rip a video from it, nothing too exciting but it’s a run I’m happy with, enjoy:

I dont know if it was only worth 81 points but since the cut-off was at 87 I guess I wouldnt have made finals anyways. Crazy level in slopestyle!

Now the plan is to organize my life for the season. I’ll get back to you soon about how that’s all going.

X Games slopestyle

Tomorrow it’s on! Just got home from the 2nd training session on the slopestyle course here in Aspen, Colorado. Pretty much just having the best time right now trying to piece together a sick run for the comp, it’s hard but it’s coming together I think. I did my run once except for the last trick, still havent quite figured it out but we have another session under the lights tonight. I know there’s already some course previews out on the internet, but here’s my version of it:

first option: wallride/close-out or flat rail. I have been hitting the wallride, fun little feature.

second feature: choice of single barrel flat rails to down rail/box, or a polejam in the middle. havent quite figured this one out yet but I think I’ll be hitting one of the flat rails and throw a spin off the end, maybe I’ll end up landing on the down rail if I’m lucky.

1st jump, a fun little 45 footer that’s slightly slanted to the right.

2nd jump, a perfect 60 footer with a ton of pop. my favorite jump in the course. this photo really shows how close together the jumps are, you have to really be on point to get through this part.

3rd jump, the biggest one on the course. I’d say it’s about 60 feet but super poppy, it throws you really high. this is probaby where we’ll see the biggest tricks.

the final jump, not my favorite but it’s growing on me for sure. it has a really flat take-off so you don’t go very high. doubles will be challenging on this one, but hopefully I’ll get a few down tonight. if not I’m going to do some switch 10 blunts, most fun trick ever.

Check back soon, probably won’t be able to post anything tonight since I’m going to the Powder Awards here in Aspen, where I am nominated for Best Natural Air. Really excited, hopefully it’ll go my way!

The weather forecast is calling for over a foot of snow in Breckenridge tonight so I’m taking out some AKJJ’s tomorrow to play around. Hopefully I’ll snap a few blog pics for y’all. Stay tuned.

view from rockefeller center. uptown might be a tourist trap, but its pretty rad by night

5 days, 5 nights, tourist traps, 10 mile walks, 1876 photos, endless alleys of record shops, thrift stores, designer boutiques, flea markets, cafés and restaurants later, I’m leaving New York. I can see why people get stuck here, it’s something about big cities like these, where one can become completely anonymous, that just sucks you in. Im writing this from the air, just got on my JFK-SLC flight after leaving Sofia for her journey back home. It’s weird snapping out of big city life, straight into skiing mode, but tomorrow I will be on the hill up at Park City for some pre X Games training with the Monster team. Thought I’d post this quick blog and give you a huge photo post on everything that went down the past week a bit later, so stay tuned, and I’ll be back soon

Xmas + Åre photo post

Welcome back to the blog, after a well deserved rest for a few days. After christmas I decided to chill out for a week and followed my father and brother up to Åre in the north of Sweden, to hang out in general, and to do a Swedish freestyle team gathering. The team isn’t fully formed yet so it’s still just a bunch of people getting together for some skiing and chilling. Good vibes for sure, and we have one more day up here before heading back down to Stockholm tomorrow night. Here’s an avalanche of photos from the last 5 days, enjoy!

Xmas in Sweden is much like Xmas anywhere else. Get together with the fam, dress a pinetree, and eat a ton of tasty food.

after Xmas we got in the car and drove the 8 hours north up to Åre, where we:

…went skiing every day

…ate delicious breakfasts at Åre bakery

…bowled

…played dart

…and had a great time in general! Soon there will be edits online from the camp since we’ve had filmers here to document what’s been going on. Unfortunately Åre doesnt have much snow so the parks are not finished yet except for a rail line, not my strongest side Just having a good time skiing though, although playing S.K.A.T.E with e’dollo and simon ericson isnt the easiest task

Xmas surf!

Headed town to Torö south of Stockholm today to see if the winds on the Baltic sea had managed to scrape some waves together. Definitely an iffy forecast and not one I would typically go on, but it’s going to be a long winter and any surf I can get is better than nothing. Surprisingly, there were some good ones out there! 5°C in the air, 5°C in the water, and not a soul out… (oh, and freezing rain and 20 knot winds, props to Sofia for shooting)

After 2 hours in the rain Sofia got enough and so did my arms after battling the strong current. Time to head home and prepare for Xmas tomorrow…(or the day after if you’re english or american).

BTW, thanks so much for all the props on my MSP re-edit! Makes me even more stoked to get back out there and beat it this year. It’s going to be a good winter!

no sleep for 24 hours is the secret to a healthy moustache

Just landed in Amsterdam after a 1-stop flight from Denver through Houston. Never got tired so spent the long flight watching 4 movies, Contagion, District 9, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Sophie Scholl: the Final Days. I can recommend them all, it’s been a while since I saw some decent movies.

Just one more flight then some holiday time with the family and Sofia, can’t wait. Hopefully Stockholm gets some more snow so I can go play on some handrails…
