this is how much fun we had last night. me, Keri and Banks just getting after it.

European X Games is over for this time, and it was a blast. Let’s hope I don’t get 3rd to last place next year.

Slopestyle preliminations are officially over, and after a hectic morning I am back at the riders lounge, icing my heel that I managed to bruise even more on the solid concrete landings out there. The course, that has been under heavy discussion for the last few days due to the 6 (small) jumps, lack of rails, lack of speed and whatnot, actually turned out to work OK today, except for a few speed issues during the second run. After the 2 runs and the mandatory result complaints (well deserved, for once), the top spot was not surprisingly given to Bobby Brown after the most technichal run I’ve ever seen laid down, followed by Tom Wallisch who looked as smooth as ever, Elias Ambühl who got some redemption after a ridiculous under-score in his first run, and little E’Dollo aka Henrik Harlaut who claimed 1st place for quite some time after his first run, with so many blunt grabs he inspired me to throw a zerospin blunt in my second run.

Yours truly ended up in 17th (not last!) after skiing very, very mellow due to the bruised heel. Got some nice little 7s and 9s in there though and it was definitely fun to ski without any pressure since as late as this morning I was thinking of pulling out of the comp.

Got into Tignes late last night after a nightmare of a travel day, and could not find the motivation to update the blog.

Anyways, here is some video from the day, nothing too exciting since the course was super windy and everyone is still getting used to hitting 7 jumps in a row (not kidding).

Felt slightly awkward to be hitting jumps after a month away from the park, but I got a bunch of laps in, mostly straight airs though. The heel feels weak for sure, so I’m still debating whether to ski or not. We’ll see after tomorrows practice session.

Now I’m off to watch pipe preliminations and root for all my boys out there!

Got to Geneva after a stopover in Amsterdam, and went to the train station to sort out tickets to Tignes. Ended up paying 50€ for tickets to Bourg st Maurice, where we would have to take a bus, + changing trains three times. Not too awesome, but I was too lazy to check out our options at that time. Looking at my ticket later I realized the journey would take us about 8 hours, and that was only to Bourg st Maurice. Great.

Ended up paying twice as much for the bus tickets instead, but at least this way we wont have to drag our bags all over France today.

Flying KLM tomorrow because of a lack of reasonably priced star alliance tickets means we had to do some seriously light packing.

Mine and Sofia’s skis, boots, ski clothes, normal clothes and camera equipment can’t weigh over 40 kgs, or we will get charged overweight and ski baggage fees, so it was pretty hard to pack, especially since I’m bringing a girl here! I think we will make it though, as long as they let us bring two carry-ons each.

Getting on the 6.20 am flight out of Stockholm Arlanda airport tomorrow morning so I better get some sleep now, long travel day awaits.

Oh, and it would be great if anyone of you out there could give me a breakdown on how to get to Tignes from Geneva airport. Trains, buses, whats the easiest route?

In other news I’m getting ready to pack my bags and fly down to Geneva on monday morning. Got slopestyle practice for Euro Winter X Games in Tignes on tuesday, so that should be fun and exciting! Hopefully my heel will be good to go, if not, however, I will make sure to provide you, my readers, with pictures and video everyday!
