slightly nervous
in the lovely ms Klara’s hands
oh shit here we go
stoked for some new ink!
time to make up my mind on the euro X games thing. heelbone is pretty sore still, but it would suck to stay home for the event when everyone else is over there skiing. at the same time, I dont want to risk the rest of the filming season. tough decisions…

It’s the small steps that are going to save the planet; I thought to myself as I walked to the grocery store with my reusable bags on the hunt for organic vegetables and local produce.
Then as I got home I proceeded to shop for cheap flight tickets to Geneva.

Being one of my all time favorite swedish bands, Kent did not disappoint one bit friday night. I’m not going to go too in-depth about their show, but all in all it was amazing to be a part of, and I can’t wait to see them again. The songs from their new album Röd stood out the most, and I’m excited about their new sound, almost like a swedish rock hybrid between Depeche Mode and Muse. Thanks Kent, for making me feel like a drunk 16-year old again.
In other news, not a whole lot is going on. Still preparing for European X Games next week, by going to the gym, eating healthy and resting my heel bone. The snow outside is slowly melting and the possibility of spring sometime soon does not seem as distant as it did a week ago.

Went to my home hill Väsjöbacken last night to meet some old friends and take a few runs. Still pretty sore in my heel so I took it easy and ended up experimenting a bit with Sofia’s Canon 7D. I know the white balance is way off, there’s a flickering light in half of the shots, and other problems but I’m figuring it out…

Off to the Kent show now, super excited!

I first met CR Johnson at Freestyle.ch in Zürich, Switzerland, the year 2004. I remember being star struck immidiately, CR was one of the skiers that had inspired me to do what I was doing, since the super early days. I remember watching his ski movie segments in the early MSP films, blown away by how far ahead of everyone else he was, doing his trademark bio spins, all the way up to 1260s. One of the first shots I ever saw of him was of a 1440, an amount of rotations I never thought was possible up until then. One of the best ski movie segments ever made is still CR’s part in Poor Boyz Production’s Happy Dayz, even today, 7 years later, it would be a legit movie segment a skier only could dream of putting together.
Yesterday, CR was skiing his home mountain, Squaw Valley, California, when he caught some rocks on an exposed cliff take-off, causing him to tumble off the cliff.
He passed away.
I really don’t have words for my feelings right now, this is the second big icon of our sport passing away in one year, due to tragic accidents. I guess it leaves you with the feeling that life is indeed fragile and you have to live in and appreciate every moment of your life, because you can be pulled away from it any second. Thank you CR, for being one of my biggest inspirations, and a great friend.

woke up to a clear blue sky and snow everywhere today. went to see my grandma, had a chat over a cup of coffee, and took her dog for a walk. old people are awesome to hang out with, and listen to their stories can be very inspiring. if you dont have any old people friends, I strongly suggest you make some.

going to head down town now to pick up some concert tickets. swedish rock/pop band Kent is playing on friday, and being a big fan since many years I am more than excited to go. if you havent heard of them you should check them out, their music is in swedish but they have a lot of international fans.

step 1 – wait for the airport shuttle for 30 minutes at the hotel only to find out they lost the booking and there is no airport shuttle.
step 2 – try to explain above story to night shift hotel clerks.
step 3 – get two taxis to do the 1 hour drive to Sapporo Chitose airport.
step 4 – arrive at the airport 30 minutes before departure.
step 5 – somehow make the flight, and escape overweight fees.
step 6 – get baggage in Tokyo, and then escape overweight fees again.
step 7 – get told that economy class is overbooked and get free upgrade to business.
step 8 – enjoy life as much as possible.
“I hope a seat in business class is OK for you, sir”
