The Hokkaido Backcountry Club (HBC) is a club dedicated to increasing awareness, education, cooperation and information exchange between recreational skiers, snowboarders, snowmobile enthusiasts, guiding companies, heli and cat ski operators, and the Hokkaido government. HBC offers a meeting place both online and offline to discuss safety and environmental issues as they relate to mountain snow sports in Japan.
