After two years of success we are ready to take this event to the next level. Year 2007 Fabulous Ruka gathered 80 participants including Finish freeski world class stars Kalle Leinonen and AJ Kemppainen. </p><p></p><p>Fabulous Ruka is the biggest freeski event in Finland during season 08/09 both measured by both the amount of participants and prize money. Competition has three categories: Pro, Rookie and Lady. On Friday 19th of December it is time for BIG AIR –jam session competition in Xmas spirit with Santa himself! Saturday 20th of December it is time for SLOPE STYLE where 2000€ prize money will be handed out for 3 best riders in Pro category. Saturday evening there will be big fireworks at BatteryPark to boost riders to best possible performances.</p><p></p><p>In this year's competition we have already 50 confirmed riders. Most famous ones are Klaus Finne from Norway, Last year´s Fabulous Ruka bronze medalist Jussi Mononen and Ruka´s own talent and Ruka Park team rider Jussi Saarinen. Ruka is famous for developing great riders. BatteryPark is full of juniors who will become the new stars for freeski scene. One of those wonder kids is Anttijussi Heikkinen who, at the age of 13 impressed the judges with his impressive riding and ended up 4th in The North Face ski Challege final in Val Thorens. </p><p></p><p>For the competitors event offers world class riding at the well shaped BatteryPark. BatteryPark is famous for its numerous events and great conditions all winter through. BatteryPark opens already in November and closes in May. BatteryPark is completely illuminated which means longer days on the slopes. BatteryPark is designed by Ruka Park Team. Most famous team riders are US Freeski Open winner 2008 AJ Kemppainen and snowboarder Antti Autti. BatteryPark is ranked as the best snowpark in Finland.</p><p></p><p>Xmas theme is an important part of Fabulous Ruka. Lapland is the official home of Santa Claus and Santa has promised to visit Fabulous Ruka during the contest. After Parties will take place at Restaurant Piste.
