Fick foljande svar redan idag: "We had our garments tested and they do have a detectable amount (parts per billion) of PFOA from DWR finish. These amounts present no hazard for the wearer. The main concern for PFOA is water contamination during factory application of DWR or home application. Since our factory conditions are controlled and regulated, the larger opportunity for release is actually during home application of DWR. This is also a situation for direct exposure to the customer. So first we want our DWR to have great durability, and when re-application is needed, we sell the best non-PFOA aftermarket DWR products available. Of course (as I mentioned) I am looking to change our factory-applied DWR's to the best available technology for environmental and water repellent performance. Besides DWR, PFOA is also an issue found in the waterproof/breathable membranes of active outdoor jackets and shells. PFOA is used in the manufacture of a material called polytetraflouroethene (PTFE) or more commonly recognized as goretex. We have already eliminated all PTFE membranes from our products in development, so any that are still in our production pipeline will be phased out over the next year or so. We are looking for the best DWR solution to complement this advancement. I am trying to put our company in a position where our products are not contributing in any way to the accumulation of PFOA in the environment."
