This is on top of heavy snow that's already fallen in the last couple of weeks.Not all parts of the Alps are affected, but those that have been are struggling. In Verbier, Switzerland, the entire lift system has shut down because of the avalanche risk. The Carrefour sector of town has also been evacuated, and if the snow continues (which it's expected to do), buildings over towards Savoleyres will be emptied too.
