Lake Tahoe, CA and Kiruna, Sweden June 1, 2004 – 4FRNT Skis is pleased to announce today that Swedish freerider Niklas Karlström is joining the company as an owner and a sponsored rider. Karlström is joining fellow professional skiers Matt Sterbenz and Steele Spence in the rider-owned ski company.
“We are pumped to have Niklas on board and would like to welcome him into the 4FRNT family,” said Matt Sterbenz, founder of 4FRNT Skis. “Niklas’ decision to join 4FRNT is huge for both Niklas and 4FRNT. Niklas will benefit from being able to design the products he rides and having a real stake in his efforts and 4FRNT will benefit from having such a high-profile and creative athlete representing the company throughout Europe.”
Karlström’s decision to join the Lake Tahoe-based company adds to Niklas’ already impressive achievements in the sport. "I am excited to be joining 4FRNT. My previous sponsor was great, but with 4FRNT I will have a real impact on the products I represent. Becoming an owner in a company that is pushing the sport gives me even more motivation to ski.”
Earlier this year, 4FRNT entered into an agreement with Neighbour’s Dog A/S of Norway to distribute 4FRNT products throughout Sweden and Norway beginning this fall.
