Blizzard Rustler 11 - 2018 POWDER Buyer's Guide
Coming in hot for 2018, Blizzard introduces the Rustler line. A standout from Powder Week, the Rustler 11 features four different kinds of wood in its core along with Titanal for increased stiffness, edge hold, and power. The four types of wood provide a balanced ski experience combined with what Blizzard calls a DRT (Dynamic Release Technology), which basically reduces side-to-side stiffness so as to make it easier to initiate and exit turns. A progressive camber profile in this ski still favors the traditional direction skier. Blizzard is known for making some of the better skis on the market but also requiring you to be on top of your game. Our reviewers, ranging from shop techs to school teachers and males and female,
said of the Rustler 11:
“Super damp and stable, punched through wind crust.”
“Forgiving tip and tail, no flop whatsoever, predictable.”
“Ski it short gives you more control but don’t lose reliability. Smeary, carvy poppy.”
“Sweet spot is pretty tight, not much power out of the turn.”
“Blizzard has become synonymous with the idea that their skis are burly as hell. With the Rustler's easy pivot and initiation while keeping a solid feel had me question if metal is in there (it is).”
