Här är vinnarna på iF3 2014
Natten till i fredags svensk tid (efter att vi i Europa tappert kämpat för att hålla oss vakna genom livestreamingen av bland annat TFJ’s och The Bunch’s nya filmer) var det prisutdelningsbonanza för årets skörd av skidfilmer borta i Montréal, och en som hade en storartad kväll var Cody Townsend. Förutom att vinna individuella priser för bästa manliga storabergs-segment och bästa enskilda klipp för sina insatser i kommande Matchstick-filmen Days of My Youth belönades även filmen som helhet för bästa bigmountainfilm i den öppna kategorin. Förhoppningsvis har han och frun Elyse Saugstad ett stort prisskåp hemma, för hon plockade hem bästa kvinnliga storabergs-segment och eftersom det handlar om skidfilmer får alla vinnare skidor istället för pokaler.
Det allra tyngsta priset gick dock till Teton Gravity Research och filmen Almost Ablaze som vann Film of The Year i pro-kategorin. Den filmen lär av allt att döma även bli det stora genombrottet för Nick McNutt, som utsågs till årets rookie före bland annat Magnus Granér. Förra årets rookie-vinnare, Lucas Stål Madison, var i år nominerad för bästa streetsegment men fick se sig slagen av Cam Riley. Inte heller The Bunch som helhet lyckades gå hela vägen detta år, Finess var nominerad till årets film i amatör-kategorin, men gick inte hela vägen. (För er som inte nattugglade och såg streamen av denna kan redaktören meddela att den får flera tummar upp, även om tröttheten gör att en faktisk recension får vänta ett tag.)
